圖書館在自動化系統持續整併趨勢下的策略

Library Technology Newsletter 在2月份有一篇文章談到 ARL (Association of Research Libraries) 成員館所採用的自動化系統及供應商在2008~2010年間降到最底點，但近10年來又有所成長，顯示圖書館科技產業在整併後，除了大型廠商的系統外，仍有一些保有競爭性的系統供圖書館選擇。

文章中還提到圖書館可以

1. 與廠商合作，以取得較好的價格。
2. 避免合約中的保密條款：因保密條款或其他競爭性關係，即便廠商有計價參數，但還是會有即便參數相同，最後的採購金額不一樣的情況。
3. 選擇替代方案，如開源系統或一些中小型廠商的系統。
4. 透過聯盟合作的方式，如共同採購或者更進一步的合作，以取得比較好的價格。
   

   This business strategy is consistent with the recent trends for ever larger groups of libraries to join in shared technical infrastructure in support of improved resource sharing, collaborative collection development, and other operational efficiencies.
