OCLC 正式撤回「WorldCat書目記錄使用及轉出政策」草案

OCLC 不久前終於宣布撤回備受各方爭議的「WorldCat書目記錄使用及轉出政策」草案，他們將另組一個新的工作小組並從OCLC會員中尋求更多的意見及參與來擬訂新的政策草案。看來 OCLC 確實依照 Review Board 在 最終報告 的建議將草案撤回，這份報告的建議如下：

• Officially withdraw the proposed policy and develop a new policy (正式撤回先前提出的草案，並重新擬訂新的政策)
• To form a clear and coherent foundation for a new policy, revisit, reaffirm, and document the social contract between OCLC and its members (OCLC和其會員間在新政策….上要有一個明確和一致的基礎)
• Develop and maintain a new policy through a consultative, transparent process (透過協商和透明的程序來訂定及維護新政策)
• desirable elements of a new policy (新的政策一定要明訂 OCLC及會員的權利與義務…，詳見最終報告)
• Develop a policy to enable expanding the role and value of WorldCat in the broad information ecosystem. (訂定一項政策以擴大 WorldCat 在資訊生態系統中的角色和價值)
