IR+

IR+ 是美國 University of Rochester 自行開發的機構典藏系統，同時也 open source 出來。只是很好奇的是現行有那麼多現成的軟體，如DSpace等，為何還要自行開發?

原來是他們發現現成的一些軟體無法同時滿足教職員及研究生的需求，所以才自行開發。經過一些研究和調查，他們發現師生的共同需求是：

• A place where they could see how their work was being used
• An area where they could do their work including collaboration and authoring
• A place to talk about and display their work

IR+ 有許多的特色，例如 Repository Wide Statistics、Researcher Pages、Ability to create “Personal publications"、Faceted Searching、Contributor pages、An online workspace..等，詳細說明可以參見開發人員 Nathan Sarr 在 Code4Lib 的介紹和範例 (link)。

比較令人意外的是，從它的安裝指南(pdf) 看來 IR+ 是安裝在 Windows平台上的，這與其他的 IR 軟體是比較不一樣的。這裡也有它的簡介手冊 (pdf)。
